About My Collection

The tableware in my current collection is formed from slab. The tumblers and cups are made from slip poured into molds of various cups I’ve thrown on the wheel. I often use lace, leaves  and other textures to make impressions in the clay and I enjoy using words and symbols to make statements on inspirational pieces.  One of my favorite parts of the creating process is experimenting with combinations of color and glaze techniques. My glazing style is influenced by abstract paintings I admire and different colors and textures I enjoy in nature.

The dinnerware and serving pieces are available for purchase at The Cook Store in Mountain Brook, Alabama and Alabama Goods in Homewood. All of the pieces in The White Collection are carried in both of these wonderful stores, each of which have their own distinct personality and prove to be a real treat for cookware and gift shopping. From time to time, other glazes are introduced and made exclusively for each individual store so be sure to check them both out if you’re in the area!

The Image of God necklaces (shown in the Inspirational Pieces & Accessories Gallery) are available at The Neighborhood Brew in Hoover, AL, a cozy and trendy place to pop in for the perfect morning latte or an evening brew. (They have great selections of all with a small local gift gallery to boot!) You may also order pieces directly from me, using the Send Gidge a Message button on the home page of this site. Currently, I am not accepting special orders (unique pieces not shown in any of the online galleries) but you can order any of the items you see on my website by clicking that button or texting me at 205-540-6187. The turn-around time for orders placed averages about 6 weeks.

I accept Venmo and Pay Pal Payments and all major credit cards. You may make your payment from the Pottery Purchase window on my home page, through the Venmo and PayPal app or pay with cash, a check or credit card if you’re paying in person. If shipping is necessary, I will calculate the shipping cost to be added to your purchase. Once your payment is received, your items will be shipped.
